Please read these Terms carefully before using the Service. By uploading a document or making a purchase, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. About the Service

Elify ("we", "us", "our") provides an AI-powered tool that analyses Danish legal and regulatory documents and generates plain-language summaries in English or Danish (the "Service"). The Service is intended to help ordinary people — including internationals, expats, and Danish residents — understand complex legal documents more easily. It is available at elify.dk.

2. Important disclaimer — not legal advice

The summaries generated by this Service are produced by artificial intelligence and are provided for informational purposes only. They are designed to help you understand the general content and language of a document. They are not legal advice and are not a substitute for consulting a qualified lawyer.

We strongly recommend that you seek professional legal counsel before making any significant financial, legal, or property-related decision based on a document you have had summarised through this Service.

The AI may make errors, omissions, or misinterpretations of complex legal language.
Danish law is subject to frequent updates. A summary may not reflect the most recent legal position.
The Service does not review the validity, authenticity, or completeness of any document you upload.

By using the Service, you acknowledge and accept these limitations.

3. Who may use the Service

The Service is available to individuals aged 18 and over. By using the Service, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age.

The Service is intended for personal and small business use. You may not use the Service for bulk commercial resale of AI-generated summaries without our prior written consent.

4. Your account and purchases

4.1 Free tier

We offer one free document analysis per user to allow you to experience the Service before purchasing. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the free tier at any time.

4.2 Buyers Pass

A Buyers Pass allows you to analyse up to 3 documents. Passes are non-refundable once any document analysis has been initiated. Unused credits on a Pass do not expire.

4.3 Payment

Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your payment card details. All prices are inclusive of applicable VAT where required.

5. Your responsibilities

By using the Service, you agree that you will:

Only upload documents that you own, have permission to share, or that are publicly available.
Not upload documents containing sensitive personal data about other individuals unless strictly necessary for your own legitimate use.
Not attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or misuse the Service or its outputs.
Not use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law.

6. Intellectual property

The AI-generated summary produced for your document is provided to you for your personal use. We do not claim ownership of the content of your uploaded documents.

The Service itself, including its design, prompts, and software, is owned by us and may not be copied, reproduced, or reverse-engineered.

7. Data and privacy

Our handling of your personal data is described in full in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms. By using the Service, you agree to the Privacy Policy.

In summary: your uploaded PDF is deleted 24 hours after your summary is delivered. Your summary result is retained until you delete it. We do not sell your data.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:

We are not liable for any decision you make, or any loss you suffer, as a result of relying on an AI-generated summary from this Service.
We are not liable for any indirect, consequential, or incidental loss arising from your use of the Service.
Our total liability to you in respect of any claim arising from your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for fraud, personal injury caused by our negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

9. Changes to the Service or these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this document. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

We may also modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or any part of it) at any time with reasonable notice where possible.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Denmark. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Danish courts.
